Learning Greek!

Hello people!! For those who are interested in learning #Greek this is the topic to be! Here i will provide with some feedback you should know just to learn easily and correctly the Greek language!

Starting of we have the alphabet:

Α α - Άλφα (Alpha) => the ' at the capital A is where we have an active a, like Aalpha

Β β - Βήτα (Vita) => the i is sounded e as e lectronics, sounds as veeta

Γ γ - Γάμμα (Gama) => try and say the m as an active, like Gamma

Δ δ - Δέλτα (Delta) => the e here is sounded as e lephant, sounds as deelta

Ε ε - Έψιλον (Epsilon)
=> E as elephant and i as electronics, sounds as eepsilon

Ζ ζ - Ζήτα (Zita) => i as electronics,  sounds as zeeta

Η η - Ήτα (Ita) => I as electronics, sounds as eeta

Θ θ - Θήτα (Thita) => Th as th under and i as electronics

Ι ι - Ιότα (Iota) => I as electronics. sounded as eoota

Κ κ - Κάππα (Kapa) => the p is active as kappa which is how its sounded also

Λ λ - Λάμδα (Lamda) => sounds as laamda

Μ μ - Μι (Me) => just like the word me

Ν ν - Νι (Ni) => i as electronics, sounds as ne  

Ξ ξ - Ξι (Ksi) => i as electronics, sounds as kse

Ο ο - Όμικρον (Omikron) => i as electronics, sounds as oomekron

Π π - Πι (Pi) => i as electronics, sounds as p (the English letter)

Ρ ρ - Ρο (Rho) => sounds as ro

Σ σ ς - Σίγμα (Sigma) => i as electronics, sounds as seegma (the third letter "ς" is used at the end of the word, if the word finishes at s, like άντρας or μέλος)

Τ τ - Ταφ (Taf) => sounds as tough

Υ υ - Ύψιλον (Ipsilon) => I, i as electronics, sounds as epselon

Φ φ - Φι (Fi) => i as electronics, sounds as phi

Χ χ - Χι (he) => sounds as the word he (e.x. he is going to word)

Ψ ψ - Ψι (Psi) => i as electronics, sounds like pse

Ω ω- Ωμέγα (Omega) => e as elephant, sounds as omeega




The Greek question mark is the ; !

#Lesson 2
Vowels and consonants

Vowels
α, ε, η, ι, ο, υ, ω
alpha, epsilon, ita, iota, omikron, ipsilon, omega

All the rest letters are consonants.


Here is a list of some special letter matches:
  • ει - Έψιλον Ιότα (Epsilon Iota) => e as elephant, i as electronics, sounds as the letter e (electronics)
  • οι - Όμικρον Ιότα (Omikron Iota) => i as electronics, sounds as the letter e (electronics)
  • αι - Άλφα Ιότα (Alpha Iota) => i as electronics, sounds as e (elephant)
  • ου - Ου (ou) => we use these two letters to pronounce the "oo". Sounds and pronounced the same way as the English oo
